Πόλεις και συγκρούσεις με έμφαση στις δι-ομαδικές σχέσεις. Πολιτικές μετανάστευσης και ένταξης. Λόγοι, αναπαραστάσεις και αστικές πολιτικές. Θεωρίες εξουσίας. Κοινωνική και χωρική δικαιοσύνη. Δημόσιο - ιδιωτικό και μεταιχμιακότητα.

Penny (Panagiota) Koutrolikou is an Associate Professor (tenured) at the School of Architecture, NTUA and Director of the Planning methodology and Spatial regulation Lab (2023). Sha holds a diploma in architecture (NTUA), MA in Culture, Globalisation and the City (Goldsmiths College) and PhD in Planning Studies (Bartlett School of Planning, UCL). She has taught at Birkbeck College (London) and at the School of Architecture, University of Thessaly and has been delivered lectures in several European universities.

Research projects she has been involved include “Geographies of settlement of recent Turkish migration to Athens after 2016”, “Reconceptualisation of the right to housing in crises in Athens, Barcelona and Glasgow”, “Redefining spatial justice in Athens as a city of crisis: contesting the urban common”, “Govermentalities of crises”, “Legal geographies of (un)safety: International ‘protection’ and contradictions of rights” and “Discursive constructions of the South”.

She is a member of the International Sociological Association, of RC 21 on Sociology of Urban and Regional Development, of RC 05 on Racism, Nationalism and Ethnic Relations, of Public Spaces and Urban Cultures AESOP Thematic Group and of the International Network of Urban Research and Action (INURA). She has participated in the (scientific and organizing) committees of several international conferences and workshops such as “Ordinary cities in exceptional times” (RC21, 2022), the 8th International Conference of Critical Geography (ICCG, 2019) “In Permanent Crisis? Uneven Development, Everywhere War and Radical Praxis” and “Crises regimes and emerging urban social movements in cities of Southern Europe” (UrbanRise, 2012)
