International Architecture Competition "Pinocchio Children's Library

YAC (Young Architects Competitions), is an international network that, since 2013, has been organizing 15 competitions of ideas aiming to foster and spread the talent of young architects and  designers throughout the world.

YAC's projects have been supported by several professional and academic partners like Patrik Schumacher (co-director of Zaha Hadid Architects), Peter Cook (Crab Studio), Yama Karim (Libeskind studio), Mario Cucinella (Cucinella Architects), Shigeru Ban Architects, Foster+Partners, Snohetta, Casabella Magazine, the Universities of Melbourne, Santa Fé, Venice, Bologna and Rome.

We are currently promoting Pinocchio Children's Library, an interesting project in cooperation with Fondazione Nazionale Carlo Collodi aiming at the design of the biggest library dedicated to Pinocchio's tale and to the main fairy-tale characters of the international children's litterature.

There will be a total amount of 20.000 € in prize money for the awarded proposals  and the jury of the competition gathers outstanding international personalities like Mario Cucinella (MC Architects), Italo Rota, Fabio Novembre, Emmanuelle Moureaux, Fedele Canosa (MECANOO Architecten), Francesco Dal Co (Casabella Magazine), Fabio Capanni (Faculty of Architecture at the University of Florence), Emilio Faroldi (Politecnico of Milan), Pier Francesco Bernacchi (Fondazione Nazionale Carlo Collodi).

Within the main European Project of "Collodi European Capital of Childhood", this architectural competition is going to be a great opportunity to develop creative ideas for such a design topic and we would be glad if you may share this with your students.
