Architectural Competition "Castle Resort"
University of Bologna, in partnership with the IUAV of Venice, the UNL of Santa Fé, has supported some interesting architectural competitions open to students and young designers, aiming to involve the academic world to interesting and up-to-date topics of planning.
The project is coordinated by YAC –Young Architects Competitions- a group that, since 2013, has been organising 12 important architectural contests which involved many prestigious and international institutions, like Zaha Hadd Architects, Casabella, Crab Studio, Snohetta, Bjarke New York, Aires Mateus and many others.
During next months (from 21st November 2016 to 3rd March 2017 ) YAC will promote an interesting call for ideas for designers: “Castle Resort”, aiming to design an evironmentally-friendly tourist resort in the area of the almost neglected ruins of a medieval castle in Roccamandolfi, in Southern Italy.
There will be a total amount of 20.000 € in prize money for the awarded proposals and the jury of the competition gathers outstanding international personalities like the Pritker Prize Souto de Moura, archt. Todd Saunders(Saunders Architecture), Alain Laurens (La Cabane Perchée), Giorgio Palmucci (Associazione Italiana Confindustria Alberghi), Lamberto Mancini (Touring Club Italiano), Edoardo Maggini (Italian State Property Agency - Italian Goverment), Elena Mucelli (University of Bologna), Giacomo Lombardi (Municipality of Roccamandolfi), Angelo Luigi Marchetti (Marlegno s.r.l.), Remo Capitanio (Capitanio Architetti).
