In the proposed new course of the 9th Semester, we focus on the investigation of the interactions and relationships between three concepts: The ‘City’ – The ‘Landscape’ – The ‘Archive’. Believing in a conceptual approach of design problems, we would like to investigate the public space of the city as a framework for the communication of ideas. Those ideas have to do with concepts of ‘nature’, as well as with conceptions of ‘culture’.

Conceptual approach of design problems. Formulation and definition of a specific conceptual problem related to architecture -for example, the concept of “time”- and development of its simultaneous study through small design exercises. Emphasis is put on the means and methods by which spaces are structured, organized and given meaning, in their wider sense, and not in the design of buildings.
