The course attempts to highlight the changes that have taken place during the last decades and that characterize both the cities and the perceptions about them. The course’s objective is to bring the students in contact with new methodological instruments in order to assist them in understanding these transformations and the complex relationship of Urbanism in Greece with the theories and practices which are formed in the international arena. In this context, the course provides insights on issues related to the theory of urban planning and urban design through interdisciplinary approaches that link the architectural and urban readings with readings of history, social science and human geography. The issues examined are included in the scientific field of urban studies.
