Introduction to sustainable environmental design as a multidisciplinary component in the design process of the built environment/ of buildings.

Integration of the principles and the systems of bioclimatic design of buildings in accordance to their natural and climatic surrounding environment and with high energy efficiency and NZEB (Near Zero Energy Building) characteristics.

Analysis of the natural and built environment, climatic data and construction systems. Analysis of the principles and the building elements that define the thermo-physical characteristics of buildings, their energy performance in relation to their patterns of use, the construction system and the architectural form.

Investigation and detailing of the construction of the building shell the methods and materials that define their bioclimatic function.

Introduction to the methodology of calculation of the energy performance of buildings, emphasising on the calculations of thermal insulation and condensation.
