The course focuses on the creation of a digital representation of a buildings using appropriate software. It highlights digital tools as a means of further exploring and perceiving architecture.
The aim of the course is to allow the perception and research of the construction of buildings through the study of digital light, materials and color. In order to meet the objectives of the course, the basic features of the digital three-dimensional space, as well as the basic tools available in most three-dimensional representation programs, are being explored. Through the lectures students will learn how to use of the basic tools of the above-mentioned programs in order to create 3D models and will experiment on digital imaging issues in relation to digital lighting and digital materials and their texture in the three-dimensional model.
Through this exercise students are asked to create the 3D model and to investigate the structure of the building they have designed in the course of the design studio of the 7th semester which is being studied and elaborated in detail during the design studio of the 8th semester.
