Resistance and general behaviour of structures to earthquake strains are drastically affected by their general shape, the mass allocation, the material choice, the structural elements use, etc. However, the elements which are not designed, by the start, to be able to handle a potential load are possible to be much more dangerous to human life or activity in or around buildings. The strengthening and repair of historical buildings and settlements in order to be able to face with success the potential strains are a specific study object. The module approaches the basic principles and problems which are related to these questions.
