The course explores the importance of gender in the configuration, organization and the design of space, and conversely the importance of space in the construction of gender and gender identities. In this context, it focuses on topics ranging from the definition and theoretical analysis of the two key concepts of the course ("gender" and "space") to approaches of space from the perspective of gender. The approach is multidisciplinary and the analytical tools of the course draw from a wide range of disciplines , such as history of the architecture of cities and traditional communities, social science , geography , social anthropology , history and sociology of science. The approach is characterized by historical depth, geographic dispersion, and ethnic diversity.
