The course examines the history of residential and human environment of the territories of the Middle East, Syria, Armenia and North Africa during Late Antiquity and Byzantium. The approach is multidisciplinary and the bibliographic tools of the course come from a range of disciplines, such as historiography, archeology, history of architecture of cities, environment and seismicity, social sciences, geography, and social anthropology. Therefore, the approach characterized by historical depth, geographic dispersion and ethnic diversity.
The course includes introductory lectures by the instructor and common discussion. Special references in Information Literacy issues as evaluation will be based on the relevant written paper and the oral examination of the students.
